Beacon Surveyors
A self-initiated concept for a firm of chartered surveyors — confident, engineered and price-forward — built end to end to show how YWR would turn a considered purchase into an instant, fixed-price decision.
Note — Beacon is a self-initiated concept, not a real client. The site framed above is a fully built, working concept you can click through, not a flat mockup.
Precise, transparent, easy to commit to
A survey is one of the most important checks a buyer ever makes, yet surveyor websites tend to be the dustiest in professional services — vague on what’s included, silent on price, and slow to respond.
We set ourselves a brief to make a firm that feels precise, transparent and easy to commit to — where the single biggest friction, not knowing the price, is removed before it’s even asked.
Know exactly what you’re buying
“Know exactly what you’re buying.” The whole site behaves like a well-engineered report: clear levels, fixed starting prices, and an instant-quote panel in the hero. Confidence comes from transparency — show the price, name what’s included, and remove the friction of having to ask.
The identity is engineered and structural: Bricolage Grotesque headlines for confident character, paired with a Space Mono detail layer for the figures and prices so the numbers read like a spec sheet. A slate-and-burnt-amber palette gives it a surveyor’s-instrument feel. Survey tiers are laid out as comparable spec cards, with a clear “most thorough” recommendation and transparent “from” pricing throughout.
- Put price and an instant quote in the hero — the single biggest friction point, removed first.
- Treat figures as a design element — a mono type layer makes the firm feel precise and measured.
- Guide the choice honestly: a clear recommendation and “no upsell” promise build trust fast.
As rigorous as the service it sells
A surveyor’s website that feels as rigorous and transparent as the service it sells — designed to turn “I should probably get a survey” into a booked job in a couple of clicks. It shows how YWR would make even the driest professional service feel modern, credible and conversion-ready.
It’s a self-initiated piece: proof of the structural thinking and pricing confidence we’d bring to a real surveying brief, framed honestly as our own concept rather than a client outcome.
